Level 3 Teaching Assistant – PPA Cover in Primary Schools

About the role

We are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide PPA cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in primary schools within Blackburn, Darwen and Accrington. You will deliver pre‑planned lessons, support whole‑class learning and maintain a positive classroom environment while the teacher is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver prepared lessons to whole classes during PPA time.
• Support pupils' learning and manage behaviour.
• Follow and adapt lesson materials where appropriate.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a consistent learning environment.
• Provide additional support to groups or individuals as directed.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting learning across primary year groups.
• Confidence delivering pre‑planned lessons to whole classes.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Confidence in delivering pre‑planned whole‑class lessons.
• Ability to adapt teaching materials to diverse pupil needs.
• Effective classroom management and behaviour support.
