Lifeguard / Sports Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Lifeguard / Sports Assistant to join the University Sports Complex at Oxford. The role involves supporting the day‑to‑day operation of the Rosenblatt swimming pool and surrounding facilities, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor pool areas and ensure the safety of all users.
• Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies in accordance with lifeguard protocols.
• Provide operational support to the sports complex, including opening and closing procedures.
• Assist the management team with facility upkeep and equipment handling.
• Work an average of 36.5 hours per week on a two‑week rotating shift pattern.

Required profile

• Team‑player with a reliable attendance record.
• Willingness to work a shift rota that includes weekdays and occasional weekends.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
