Line of Business Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Line of Business Financial Controller to join a leading international financial services organisation. Working in a highly regulated environment, you will partner with Front Office, Product Control, Operations and senior Finance stakeholders to ensure the integrity of financial reporting across a complex trading business.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for designated business areas.
• Produce detailed P&L and balance‑sheet analysis with month‑on‑month, quarter‑on‑quarter and year‑on‑year commentary.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, substantiation and control reviews.
• Monitor and resolve ledger breaks, suspense accounts and reconciliation issues.
• Support Head Office, regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
• Coordinate risk and control assessments and maintain a strong financial control framework.
• Liaise with Product Control, Operations and business stakeholders to investigate reporting issues and improve processes.
• Assist with audit reviews, SOX controls and regulatory compliance activities.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in banking or financial services.
• Previous experience in Financial Control, Product Control or Legal Entity Control.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and control frameworks.
• Knowledge of financial instruments and IFRS reporting requirements.
• Proven stakeholder management skills across multiple business functions.
