Locum Consultant Anaesthetist (12‑month fixed term)

About the role

We are seeking a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist for a 12‑month fixed‑term position starting in August 2026. This role covers a sabbatical leave and offers the opportunity to join a cohesive department dedicated to excellent patient care and strong multidisciplinary teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level anaesthetic care across a range of subspecialties.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours duties, including twilight shifts (6 pm – 10 pm) and overnight non‑resident on‑calls for emergency theatres (1:20 rota).
• Contribute to the department’s vision of high‑quality, patient‑focused service.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless peri‑operative care.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Consultant Anaesthetist with a valid licence to practise in the UK.
• Motivated, hard‑working professional who values teamwork and patient safety.
