Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer

About the role

We are supporting a client with a cloud engineering and automation programme and need an experienced Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer. The role focuses on improving cloud visibility, inventory management, monitoring and automation across multi‑cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions on AWS and GCP.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using Python and Shell to increase operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Support containerised workloads and work with Kubernetes where required.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to enhance cloud governance, observability and reporting.
• Drive cloud asset discovery, inventory and configuration management initiatives.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with both Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
• Proven track record delivering logging, monitoring and inventory solutions in cloud environments.
• Strong background in automation and scripting (Python, Shell).
• Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience working with Kubernetes or other containerisation technologies.

What we offer

• Day rate of £400‑£450 (inside IR35) via Umbrella Company.
• Hybrid working – 4 days onsite in Glasgow, 1 day remote.
• Initial 6‑month contract with potential extension.
