Machine Learning Modeling Lead

About the role

We are a global quantitative trading organisation seeking an experienced Machine Learning Modeling Lead. You will own the strategy, design and execution of our modelling framework, turning cutting‑edge research into reliable, high‑performance models that power live trading across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Define the long‑term vision for the model portfolio, covering boosted trees, time‑series deep learning, graph‑based models and order‑book prediction architectures.
• Design training pipelines with strict data hygiene, rolling and walk‑forward validation, and leakage‑free workflows.
• Build explainability and diagnostic tooling such as SHAP, permutation tests and model dissection techniques.
• Develop ensemble strategies and regime‑aware model routing.
• Lead and mentor a team of ML researchers, establishing best practices for experimentation and documentation.
• Partner with engineering and trading teams to ensure smooth deployment of models into live trading systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience working with machine learning, with at least 2 years applying ML in quantitative finance, investments or trading.
• Strong statistical foundation, comfortable with hypothesis testing, bootstrapping, time‑series quirks and related methods.
• Experience building ML systems that operate in real‑time or near‑real‑time environments.
• Proficiency in evaluating alpha performance (information coefficient, rank correlations, stability, decay).
