Maintenance Technician – Summer Turnaround (Cambridge)

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a leading student accommodation provider in Cambridge for the crucial summer turnaround period. The role involves hands‑on work preparing rooms and communal areas for the new academic year, ensuring a high standard of safety and presentation for incoming students and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across the site.
• Refresh rooms and prepare them for new residents, including occasional heavy lifting.
• Perform basic plumbing, painting, decorating and mastic work.
• Undertake routine safety checks and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and wider site staff to deliver a positive resident experience.

Required profile

• Previous experience in residential or facilities maintenance, or a trade such as plumbing or carpentry.
• Practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
