Management Accountant - 12 Months Fixed Term

About the role

We are partnering with a growing services business to hire a Management Accountant on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in Chippenham. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work in a hybrid model, delivering hands‑on management accounting, budgeting and process‑improvement support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and provide variance commentary.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and support month‑end/year‑end close.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow forecasting across the business.
• Prepare VAT returns and monitor costs across service units.
• Drive process and system improvement projects to increase efficiency.
• Support the Financial Controller with external audit requirements and ad‑hoc finance duties.
• Oversee transactional processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a similar management accounting role.
• Part‑qualified or qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent by experience.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Team‑player comfortable in a close‑knit accounting function.
• Experience in a small/medium‑sized services business is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
