Management Accountant – Hybrid (Brighton)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing business that is investing heavily in its finance function and technology. This hybrid Management Accountant position will sit within a collaborative finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller and supporting a portfolio of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly Management Accounts with variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
• Own the month‑end close process for assigned business units.
• Produce balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
• Support statutory accounts preparation and the external audit process.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with wider compliance activities.
• Assist with budgeting, quarterly forecasting and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Deliver product‑margin analysis and commercial reporting.
• Partner with operations, sales, marketing and commercial teams.
• Develop financial reports using Excel and Power BI.
• Drive finance process improvements through automation, Power Query and AI tools.
• Support implementation and development of Business Central and other finance technology platforms.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or actively studying towards qualification (QBE candidates considered).
• Strong analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
• Ability to work across multiple entities and contribute to group finance projects.
