Managing Director – International Garden Furniture Business

About the role

Our client, an established garden furniture and outdoor living company with a strong international presence, is seeking a Managing Director to lead the business into its next phase of growth. Based in the North West of England, the role combines commercial ambition with day‑to‑day leadership of a diverse, wholesale‑focused organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Drive international sales growth by acquiring new customers, increasing market penetration and developing existing wholesale accounts across Europe and the US.
• Own and execute the international sourcing strategy, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Build and develop the wider team through effective leadership, coaching and clear accountability.
• Partner with the Board to set strategic direction, translate long‑term ambitions into commercial priorities and ensure strong financial and operational performance.

Required profile

• Proven track record of growing international sales, particularly in wholesale markets across Europe and North America.
• Experience leading a senior team and fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Ability to work closely with a Board and senior stakeholders to shape strategy.
