About the role
The Royal College of Music is seeking a part‑time Marimba Professor to join its international percussion faculty. The successful candidate will deliver high‑level instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students, fostering technical excellence and artistic development.
Key responsibilities
- Teach individual and group marimba lessons to students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Design and deliver curriculum that meets the college’s rigorous performance standards.
- Mentor students in preparing for recitals, competitions and professional engagements.
- Contribute to the department’s research and outreach activities.
Required profile
- Widely recognised performer or teacher with an international reputation.
- Proven teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Strong global perspective and extensive international contacts.
- Deep understanding of the professional demands of a music career.
Required skills
- Advanced marimba performance.

- Permanent part‑time contract starting September 2026.
