M&E Technician – Mechanical Focus (Hospital)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced M&E Technician with a mechanical bias to join a leading facilities management organisation supporting hospital building services. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical plant equipment, ensuring safe and compliant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hospital mechanical plant including HVAC, air handling units, fan coil units, pumps and medical support systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and minor installations in line with HTMs and statutory regulations.
• Support basic electrical tasks such as emergency lighting, smoke ventilation, control systems and medical electrical interfaces.
• Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota, providing emergency cover for critical clinical plant breakdowns.

Required profile

• Relevant Level 3/NVQ3 or equivalent qualification (e.g., C&G Part 2/B).
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a hospital or similar environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Willingness to undertake on‑call duties and maintain accurate service records.
