About the role
A motivated Mechanical Design Engineer is needed to join a global engineering manufacturing client. The role involves creating detailed designs for new and existing machinery, supporting modernisation projects and ensuring compliance with UK and international standards.
Key responsibilities
- Produce design schematics, assembly and detail drawings for assigned projects.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and P&ID drawings using AutoCAD.
- Select appropriate materials, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical components.
- Develop and refine machine designs for improvement, modernisation and refurbishment.
- Work on installed‑base machinery and deliver projects to specification.
- Ensure designs meet relevant safety and industry standards.
Required profile
- Proven hands‑on mechanical design experience in engineering industries.
- HND/HNC or degree in Mechanical/Electro‑Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng, M.Eng, etc.).
- Practical CAD experience (SolidWorks advantageous, AutoCAD acceptable).
- Experience in sectors such as pharmaceutical, biomedical, FMCG, food processing, beverage, water, oil & gas or similar.
- Full UK driving licence, passport and ability to travel to European/international sites.
- Based locally to the Winchester site; no visa sponsorship available.
