Mechanical Engineer – Night Shift (Permanent)

About the role
This permanent night‑shift position is with a leading manufacturing company. The Mechanical Engineer will ensure the plant operates at optimal speed and that production targets are consistently met during the Monday‑Thursday night shift.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out proactive maintenance and manage site preventive maintenance schedules.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults across the facility.
- Lead engineering projects such as commissioning, installations and equipment relocations.
- Identify and implement process and machine‑output improvements.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and site legislation.
Required profile
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a mechanical or multi‑skilled role within an industrial environment.
- Ability to work at a fast pace and thrive in a manufacturing setting.
