About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a high‑profile MOD land defence programme in Bristol, working within the Integrate Team on complex engineering challenges. The position is a 12‑month contract inside IR35 with hybrid working and requires UK Security Clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise across the programme.
• Identify, investigate and resolve cross‑project engineering issues.
• Support Project Leads and Chief Engineers with technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Identify design conflicts and integration challenges.
• Participate in focused engineering working groups.
• Contribute to engineering risk identification and mitigation.
• Produce technical documentation.
• Ensure engineering activities align with programme standards and best practice.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification.
• Professionally Registered Engineering Technician (EngTech) or equivalent.
• Experience delivering technical engineering solutions.
• Ability to communicate technical information to a range of stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
