Mental Health Practitioner – Community Mental Health Team

About the role

The Mental Health Practitioner will join the East Dunbartonshire Community Mental Health Team, providing specialist ADHD assessments and low‑level psychological therapies within a multidisciplinary NHS setting.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out ADHD assessments and monitor medication and treatment for a small caseload, working closely with a psychiatrist.
• Deliver low‑level psychological therapies to individuals and groups.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team while also working autonomously.
• Support junior staff and student nurses and contribute to overall team functioning.

Required profile

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (1st level) with the NMC.
• Minimum three years of post‑graduate experience in mental health.
• Full, valid driving licence for travel across East Dunbartonshire.

Required skills

• Proficiency in conducting ADHD assessments.
• Ability to monitor psychiatric medication and treatment plans.
• Experience delivering low‑level psychological therapies.
