Mental Health Support Assistant – Psychology Graduate

About the role
This full‑time position supports vulnerable students at a specialist school in Reading. It is designed for a recent psychology graduate who wants to gain hands‑on experience working with young people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and co‑existing mental health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students throughout the school day.
- Deliver personalised interventions aimed at developmental milestones.
- Create a fun, engaging classroom environment that encourages independence.
- Support communication, emotional regulation and social development.
- Monitor progress, record outcomes and celebrate achievements.
Required profile
- Recent graduate in psychology.
- Compassionate, resilient and able to work with vulnerable young people.
- Interest in educational, clinical or speech‑language pathways.
- Available to start ASAP or in September 2026 on a full‑time basis.
