Mid-Level Associate - Transactional Real Estate Lawyer

About the role

Clifford Chance is recruiting a junior-mid level real estate lawyer for its Newcastle office, which joined the firm in early 2018. The position works alongside the London Real Estate Transaction Group and the London Finance and Corporate practices, supporting market-leading real estate transactions. The firm is building a small transactional real estate team in Newcastle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing large transactions, including real estate, real estate finance and corporate M&A, particularly managing due diligence work streams
• Handle the real estate aspects of energy and infrastructure projects, such as land acquisition, pipeline easements and due diligence, including producing or reviewing certificates of title and reports on title
• Manage ongoing work such as lettings, licences for clients and lender consent matters
• Support social housing transactions, mainly by reviewing certificates of title and other due diligence
• Work with the Real Estate Transaction Group on acquisitions, developments, investments and disposals
• Help develop standard operating procedures and processes to facilitate artificial intelligence in real estate transactions
• Take day-to-day responsibility for your own workload, organise work streams and deliver them with partners and lawyers in London
• Deal with client contact, negotiation and drafting

Required profile

• England & Wales qualified solicitor
• Solid experience advising on real estate matters, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, development and due diligence
• Good experience giving real estate specialist input on corporate, finance and restructuring matters
• Excellent academic record
• Able to take day-to-day responsibility for your own workload
