Mobile Fabric Engineer – London

About the role

You will use your expertise as a Fabric Engineer to deliver essential maintenance and repair services across the London Fire Brigade estate. The role involves hands‑on work on mechanical, electrical and building fabric trades while ensuring health and safety standards are met on every site.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all required paperwork on‑site and obtain customer signatures for prompt invoicing.
• Fill out engineer worksheets with detailed information on plant requiring additional work.
• Identify lifecycle replacement needs and provide accurate quotes.
• Conduct fire‑door inspections in line with SFG20 standards.
• Perform locksmith repairs and replacements.
• Carry out tiling repairs and new installations.
• Execute glazing repairs, plastering, painting and light installations.
• Undertake general carpentry and handyman duties.

Required profile

• Carpentry, painting/plastering and locksmith qualifications.
• Additional trade qualifications (plumbing, mechanical) are advantageous.
• L8 Awareness, IPAF and PASMA certifications.
• Desirable experience in brickwork, tarmac, groundworks and general building works.
• Commitment to health and safety policies and reporting procedures.
