Mobile Vehicle Technician – East England

About the role

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division, delivering planned repairs and servicing directly to members at their homes or workplaces across East England. The role offers a competitive base salary of £40,178 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000 and a guaranteed overtime option.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
• Carry out diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in‑depth repairs typically performed in a workshop.
• Provide members with advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Manage a pre‑booked digital schedule of appointments.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience.
• Or 5 years of experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic plus a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Required skills

• Advanced mobile diagnostics equipment.
• In‑depth vehicle repair techniques.
• Vehicle safety inspection procedures.
• Full UK driving licence (≤6 points).
