About the role
We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our three‑person maintenance team at Braintree Precision Components. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be the electrical specialist responsible for keeping our bespoke manufacturing line running smoothly through preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on control panels, PLCs and inverter drives.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production and site equipment.
- Support mechanical maintenance tasks such as bearings, belts, gearboxes and pneumatic systems.
- Perform fault finding on automation systems, including Siemens and Fanuc PLCs.
- Respond swiftly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Execute electrical installation, modification and improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an electrically qualified maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 with distinction and substantial experience).
- Strong knowledge of 3‑phase systems, motors, drives, sensors and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Working knowledge of health and safety standards, safe isolation and risk assessments.

- Salary £45,000–£51,000 inclusive of shift allowance (39‑hour week).
