Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

DPD is seeking an experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Network Sortation Engineer) to support a network of depots across the South of England. Working night shifts on a Panama pattern, you will ensure that sortation equipment remains operational, enabling the delivery of world‑class parcel services.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns with extensive fault‑finding (electrical and mechanical).
• Carry out ad‑hoc repair requests on all sortation machinery.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on sortation systems.
• Complete service reports and update internal maintenance systems.
• Use SCADA systems to assist in fault diagnosis.
• Liaise with Security, Operations and IT departments regarding maintenance activities.
• Adhere to health & safety policies, including COSHH.

Required profile

• Completed recognised engineering apprenticeship or HND/HNC with an electrical focus.
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced automated environment, handling both electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Demonstrated ability to service and repair conveyor systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, resilience and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Self‑motivated, autonomous and a collaborative team player.
