Newly Qualified Commercial Debt Recovery Solicitor – Newcastle

About the role

We are seeking a newly qualified solicitor to join our Commercial Debt Recovery & Litigation team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role offers hands‑on exposure to complex commercial disputes, from pre‑action negotiations through to trial preparation, within a firm recognised by the Legal 500 for client service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex pre‑action disputes and advise clients on debt recovery strategies.
• Conduct mediations, settlement negotiations and draft court applications.
• Oversee defended claims, including Fast Track and Intermediate Track litigation.
• Prepare witness statements, costs schedules and instruct counsel.
• Assist with trial preparation and attend hearings as required.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or NQ solicitor due to qualify this year.
• Completed a litigation seat with a genuine interest in commercial litigation.
• Strong drafting and analytical abilities.
• Commercially minded with excellent client care.
• Proactive, organised and able to work collaboratively.
