Night Porter – Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Night Porter to join the team at Norton House Hotel & Spa, a distinguished property within the Hand Picked Hotels portfolio. You will be the face of the hotel during the night, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional guest service throughout the night, handling enquiries and requests promptly.
• Operate the bar, serve room‑service orders, and maintain cleanliness in public areas.
• Prepare and set up conference rooms for early‑morning events.
• Conduct the night audit, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment for guests and staff.
• Communicate clearly with day‑shift colleagues to ensure smooth handover.
• Build positive relationships within the team and support a collaborative atmosphere.
• Respond calmly and professionally under pressure, always upholding the brand’s standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a luxury four‑ or five‑star hotel, preferably on night shifts.
• Strong passion for delivering above‑and‑beyond guest experiences.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to anticipate guest needs.
• Solution‑oriented mindset and ability to act calmly under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.
