Non-Destructive Testing Internship – Aircraft Structures (12 months)

About the role

Join Airbus' transnational engineering team as an NDT Engineering Intern, working on aircraft structures for a 12‑month placement in Filton. You will gain hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge, eco‑efficient non‑destructive testing technologies while supporting active programmes and manufacturing plants worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Innovate and qualify eco‑efficient NDT processes such as ultrasound, X‑ray and eddy current across Airbus and its global supply chain.
• Troubleshoot technical queries for active aircraft programmes and manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with stress and design teams to ensure reliable inspectability of complex structures.
• Contribute to global NDT standards, boards and committees while fostering specialised education.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate student in Material Science, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field.
• Must remain an undergraduate for the full 12‑month placement.
• Initial practical experience in material science through labs, projects or prior internships is desirable.
• Team‑work mindset and ability to communicate technical concepts.
