Nursery Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join our Early Years team on a full‑time maternity cover contract starting in September. You will lead a well‑established Nursery class in a supportive mainstream primary school, delivering high‑quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assess, mark and report on pupil progress.
• Deliver creative, play‑based learning aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
• Support children’s communication, language, social and emotional development.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with support staff, parents and the wider school community.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the broader life of the school.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching in Early Years, preferably within a Nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Passionate, nurturing and creative approach to early childhood education.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
