Operational Tax Senior Manager

About the role

We're looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Operational Tax Senior Manager to support Monzo’s Tax team and collaborate with Finance and Product functions. You will lead operational tax matters that affect our customers across the UK and Europe, ensuring compliance and smooth tax reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own operational tax as the subject‑matter expert, advising the business and ensuring obligations are met as Monzo expands into new markets.
• Lead compliance and controls across jurisdictions, including BBSI, ISA reporting, FATCA, CRS, Corporate Criminal Offence reporting and CT61 equivalents, and build new processes as products evolve.
• Shape new products by partnering with Product and local market teams to embed tax considerations, design reporting, and pressure‑test edge cases.
• Stay ahead of tax law changes in the UK and EU, translating them into clear actions and preparing the company for new requirements.
• Partner across Monzo with Product, Financial Crime, Engineering, Legal, EU Next Markets and Finance to solve problems from an operational tax perspective.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant and/or tax advisor, or equivalent experience.
• Significant in‑house experience working in operational tax.
• Comfortable working autonomously and delivering results.
• Energetic, hands‑on attitude with a strong eye for detail.
