Optical Lab Technician

About the role

Specsavers is looking for a dedicated Optical Lab Technician to join its team in Stockport. You will work in a fast‑paced optical laboratory, ensuring high‑quality glasses are produced for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Read lens and frame specifications from prescriptions.
• Operate blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses to the correct shape.
• Assemble lenses into frames and apply tinting for UV protection and colour options.
• Order frames and lenses and perform quality checks on completed glasses.
• Maintain a clean work environment and perform routine machine maintenance.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent eye for detail and high level of organisation.
• Flexible, adaptable and able to manage time effectively.
• Passionate about delivering great customer service.

Required skills

• Experience operating lens blocking machines.
• Proficiency with glazing machines for lens cutting.
• Knowledge of lens tinting processes.
