Outreach Tutor – Flexible One‑to‑One Teaching Role

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an Outreach Tutor to provide personalised, one‑to‑one support for learners who have been out of education for an extended period. You will work directly with pupils in Birmingham, helping them rebuild confidence, re‑engage with learning and achieve progress in core subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individualised lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs.
• Provide targeted support in core subjects such as English, maths and science.
• Create a structured, positive learning environment that encourages confidence.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Help re‑introduce routine, build trust and support personal development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in classroom teaching.
• Passion for supporting vulnerable learners and those returning to education.
• Ability to work flexibly and manage one‑to‑one sessions.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach.
