Outsourcing Manager

About the role

Our client, a director‑led accountancy practice, is seeking an Outsourcing Manager to oversee a portfolio of businesses and ensure the delivery of high‑quality management accounts, VAT returns and financial reporting. The role blends client management, team leadership and digital accounting expertise to support growth and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and supervise the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, forecasts and reports.
• Review financial information to maintain quality and compliance with UK standards.
• Lead, coach and develop team members, allocating workloads and meeting deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact.
• Promote the adoption of cloud accounting systems and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Support client onboarding and recognise opportunities to expand services.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in accounting, finance or outsourced accounting services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a client portfolio and lead teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage.
