Paid Teacher Training Programme – Cover Supervisor to Qualified Teacher

About the role
This two‑year paid programme combines on‑the‑job experience with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You start in September 2026 as a fully employed Cover Supervisor and progress to a Trainee Teacher in the second year.
Key responsibilities
- Year 1: Work as a Cover Supervisor across multiple subjects and year groups, delivering lessons and supporting students.
- Year 1: Attend weekly professional training sessions and receive one‑to‑one mentoring.
- Year 1: Observe experienced teachers and develop your own teaching practice.
- Year 2: Complete Initial Teacher Training while continuing to teach, aiming to achieve PGCE and QTS.
Required profile
- UK bachelor's degree (or recognised international equivalent).
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above (Science for primary applicants).
- Legal right to work in the UK for at least two years (no visa sponsorship).
- Resilience, willingness to learn and commitment to the two‑year programme.
