Part-Time GCSE English & Maths SEN Tutor

About the role

You will work with secondary‑aged learners in Wythenshawe, delivering one‑to‑one GCSE English and Maths tuition. The role focuses on pupils with SEND needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety or dyslexia, and offers flexible hours within the school day (9 am‑3 pm).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalised one‑to‑one GCSE English and Maths lessons.
• Adapt sessions to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
• Plan and execute tailored lesson plans that target GCSE outcomes.
• Build supportive relationships that boost confidence and academic progress.
• Assess learning needs, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and company procedures.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of UK teaching or tuition experience.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Proven ability to teach English and Maths at GCSE level.
• Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK; access to a vehicle is desirable.
