About the role
We are looking for a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a school in Accrington on a part‑time basis from September 2026. The role involves three afternoons per week, working closely with teachers to enhance classroom learning.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering instructional materials.
- Provide targeted support to small groups and individual pupils.
- Monitor and report on student progress.
- Help develop differentiated learning resources.
- Implement behaviour management strategies.
- Supervise the class in the teacher’s absence to maintain continuity.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar, preferably at a higher level.
- Strong understanding of classroom activities and teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to professional development.
