About the role
We are seeking a passionate part‑time Teacher of Psychology and Sociology to join Harris Garrard Academy in Thamesmead. The role offers a balanced workload, professional satisfaction and the chance to contribute to a thriving social‑sciences department.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging GCSE and A‑Level lessons in Psychology and Sociology.
- Assess, track and provide feedback on student progress.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student safeguarding.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to share resources and best practice.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree or strong background in Psychology, Sociology or a related social science (ECTs welcome).
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student welfare.
Required skills
- Ability to make complex theoretical concepts accessible and engaging.
