Pastoral Support Professional – Student Wellbeing

About the role
Reeson Education is seeking a compassionate Pastoral Support professional to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Rotherham. You will help promote student wellbeing, improve attendance, and remove barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities
- Provide individual and small‑group pastoral support to enhance emotional wellbeing and resilience.
- Support strategies that improve attendance, punctuality, behaviour and engagement with learning.
- Work proactively with students facing behavioural or emotional challenges, fostering positive coping strategies.
- Monitor and record wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and pastoral outcomes, reporting to staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, safeguarding teams, parents, carers and external agencies to deliver coordinated support.
Required profile
- Previous experience in pastoral, behaviour, mentoring, youth work, education or safeguarding roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families and colleagues.
- Calm, empathetic and resilient approach when supporting young people.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
