Payroll Technician – Payroll Administrator

About the role

Our client is looking for a detail‑oriented Payroll Technician to join their Leeds team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll services for staff, directors and external clients while supporting key system projects.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly, monthly and quarterly payrolls for staff, directors and clients in line with UK legislation.
• Manage statutory payments, deductions, Auto‑Enrolment, RTI submissions and third‑party payments.
• Support payroll compliance reporting such as P11Ds, P60s and PSA.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and Administration to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Participate in system upgrades, new scheme onboarding, PSP development, and testing of new payroll software releases.
• Write test cases, conduct rectification testing and assist with new system implementation.
• Escalate and resolve technical issues with relevant teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience running high‑volume payrolls.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
• CIPP qualification (partially or fully qualified) or equivalent.
• Ability to handle complex payroll queries and provide strong customer service.
• Proven experience in process improvement and documentation.
• Team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
