PCV Bus Driver – Full‑time at Ashington Depot

About the role

Join Arriva as a PCV Bus Driver at the Ashington depot and become a vital part of keeping the North East England community moving. You will transport commuters, shoppers and schoolchildren safely while building relationships with regular passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a PCV‑licensed bus on assigned routes, adhering to schedules and safety regulations.
• Assist passengers with boarding, alighting and any enquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage and any incidents.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑journey safety checks on the vehicle.
• Report any mechanical issues or service needs to the depot team.

Required profile

• Valid PCV licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
• At least 18 months bus‑driving experience within the last 5 years (required for higher pay rate).
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including early mornings and late evenings.
