People Development Manager - North

About the role

JD Sports' People team supports growth by attracting talent, developing future leaders and creating an engaging colleague experience, working across Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Reward and Wellbeing. The People Development Manager executes the development strategy for retail, designing, delivering and evaluating training and development so colleagues and managers have the operational and leadership skills needed to drive business performance. The role is field-based and requires frequent travel across the North region (North West, North Wales and Yorkshire).

Key responsibilities

• Scope, design and deliver performance-focused development sessions and coaching for retail audiences, in virtual and face-to-face formats.
• Work with Area and Regional managers to improve team KPI delivery, identify trends and improve areas of concern through individual and team development.
• Follow up on development interventions to measure impact and inform further learning needs.
• Deliver individual and group coaching for personal and professional development, on and off development programmes.
• Build a learning culture by sharing learning, facilitating social learning and curating content for self-directed learning.
• Uphold ILM Assured quality standards in programmes and evaluate learning effectiveness to evidence ROI.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering performance-focused learning aligned to business objectives.
• Ability to scope and design engaging learning experiences based on Adult Learning Theory.
• Strong commercial mindset, able to use data to shape development needs.
• Qualified to Level 3 in Learning & Development by CIPD or equivalent.

Required skills

• Individual and group coaching skills and techniques.
• Learning facilitation and stakeholder management.
• Project management and excellent computer literacy, including MS Office.
