Physical Design Process, Methods, Tools & Data Placement (12 months)

About the role

This 12‑month placement in the Physical Design PMTD team focuses on improving the Digital Design and Manufacturing Service (DDMS) to achieve financial savings through digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Work within the Physical Design PMTD team on the DDMS improvement project to deliver financial savings through digitalisation.
• Specify, develop and document process changes for deploying new toolsets (3DExperience / Catia V6) and ensure lean working methods with stakeholders.
• Produce a final report presented to department managers and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently studying a Mechanical Engineering degree as an undergraduate for the full placement duration.
• Demonstrated experience or knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, preferably Dassault System tools (Catia V5/V6, Delmia, Apriso).
• Some programming skills (VB, VB.net, PHP, MySQL, C#) are advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary: £24,500 per year.
• 37 hours per week with flexible and hybrid working options.
• Half‑day Fridays and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
