Physical Education Teacher – Full‑Time (Supply)

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Sunderland from September 2026 to April 2027. The role is full‑time and involves delivering engaging PE lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver well‑structured PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach a variety of practical sports and theoretical PE content.
• Assess student progress and provide targeted support.
• Promote teamwork, resilience and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and support the wider PE department.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Physical Education in a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Passion for sport and inspiring young people.
• Ability to deliver lessons to students of varying abilities.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
