Plater/Fabricator – Fixed‑Term Assignment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Plater/Fabricator for a 24‑month fixed‑term assignment at Caterpillar’s Articulated Trucks plant in Peterlee, North East England. You will work in a modern, quality‑driven manufacturing environment producing a range of articulated trucks for mining, construction and aggregates.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble components to tight tolerances using welding and build fixtures.
• Follow standard work procedures and computer‑driven analysis techniques.
• Perform manual lifting and handle materials safely.
• Maintain safety standards and wear mandatory PPE at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and work independently when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in fabrication or welding, preferably with an NVQ Level 3 qualification.
• Ability to work to precise tolerances and follow detailed work instructions.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to use required PPE.
• Capable of manual lifting and basic physical tasks.
• Willingness to complete a skills test as part of the application process.
