Post-16 Pastoral & Student Success Coordinator

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position supports post‑16 learners at a leading Further Education college in Bromley. You will act as a bridge between academic staff and student support services, helping students overcome barriers and achieve their educational and career goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly group tutorials covering pastoral themes, safeguarding, study skills, social action and career preparation.
• Manage a caseload of roughly 15 tutorial groups (about 300 students) and conduct one‑to‑one mentoring sessions to set SMART targets.
• Lead attendance and behaviour interventions in collaboration with curriculum teams, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Monitor vulnerable student cohorts, serve as the primary contact for pastoral concerns and sign‑post to wellbeing or safeguarding services.
• Support learners with UCAS applications, personal statements, Gatsby benchmark activities, enrichment projects and work‑experience tracking.
• Participate in disciplinary meetings, parents’ evenings, open days and enrolment periods.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy (essential).
• A relevant degree (e.g., Youth Work) or prior experience in Further Education is desirable.
• Proven experience delivering group workshops and one‑to‑one support to young people.
• Excellent communication, calm authority under pressure and an empathetic approach.
