Postperson (Delivery Driver) – Bridgwater

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) in Bridgwater and become the friendly face delivering letters, parcels and moments that matter to your community. You will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and will be based at the Bridgwater Delivery Office.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle a variety of items such as exam results, birthday cards, business orders and other important deliveries.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
