Practice Accountant – £50,000 to £65,000

About the role

My client is an established Accountancy Practice of over 40 years servicing clients across the Thames Valley. They are looking for an experienced all‑round Practice Accountant to manage the production of year‑end accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and to review the work of juniors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal clients.
• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review a range of compliance filings including Capital Gains Tax, ATED, ERS and P11D forms.
• Support the Tax Director on advisory projects, including tax planning and structuring.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and handling enquiries.
• Review work prepared by junior staff, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
• Ensure deadlines are met and workflows are managed effectively.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a client portfolio.
• Experience preparing year‑end financial statements.
• Experience with personal tax returns.
• Experience with corporation tax returns.
