Preceptorship Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

About the role

Join Cygnet Hospital Bury Dunes as a Preceptorship Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD). You will work 37.5 hours per week across days, nights and weekends, supporting service users in a modern inpatient setting with en‑suite rooms, a gym, therapy garden and more.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop services, conduct audits and drive quality improvement.
• Attend mandatory training and continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
• Maintain individual care plans in line with NMC guidelines, working with residents, relatives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Administer prescribed medicines following Healthcare Commission procedures.

Required profile

• Newly qualified RMN or RNLD with a current or upcoming UK PIN registration.
• Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and current nursing best practices.
• Ability to document accurately, undertake audits and support patient recovery.
• Compassionate, honest, resilient and focused on empowering service user independence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in nursing documentation and audit processes.
• Understanding of NMC standards and Mental Health Act regulations.
