Primary School Behaviour Mentor & Sports Coach

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Behaviour Mentor and Sports Coach to work within a primary school in East London. The role combines supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs and delivering engaging sports sessions as part of the school timetable.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group interventions for pupils experiencing behavioural difficulties.
• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate sports and physical education activities aligned with the national curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and external agencies to develop personalised support plans.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and attendance.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.

Required profile

• Minimum three months experience working with children in the past two years.
• Experience coaching primary‑aged children, preferably within the PE curriculum.
• Ability to commit to the full academic year with a maximum two‑week notice period.
• Desirable: SEN experience, degree qualification, Team Teach training.
• Passion for supporting pupils with SEMH and SEN needs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of primary‑level physical education programmes.
• Understanding of behavioural management strategies for children.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £105‑£140, paid on a day‑rate basis.
