Primary SEN Teacher – Tooting (SW18)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a new provision in a Tooting primary school. The role supports pupils aged 4‑16 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex needs, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. You will work within a well‑resourced environment alongside experienced teaching assistants and on‑site nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a semi‑formal curriculum tailored to a wide range of communication needs, including non‑verbal and physical communication.
• Collaborate closely with pupils, parents/carers and multidisciplinary staff to ensure a supportive learning experience.
• Adapt the syllabus in line with each pupil’s EHCP and monitor progress using a variety of assessment strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the overall development of the special needs provision.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with PMLD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex needs, or physical/mental/sensory impairments.
• Creative, adaptable and passionate about inclusive education.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (Child or Child & Adult barred list).
