Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – Lancing

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs in a vibrant school setting in Lancing. You will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering personalised learning activities for SEN pupils.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to reinforce lesson objectives.
• Monitor and record progress, adapting strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with parents, specialists and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
• Relevant qualification such as NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent in SEN support or education.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach to diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with teachers, parents and professionals.

Required skills

• Experience supporting SEN pupils.
• Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
