Primary Supply Teacher – Day-to-Day Cover

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Primary Supply Teachers to provide day‑to‑day cover in a variety of primary schools across Clacton‑on‑Sea and surrounding areas. You will work on an as‑needed basis, stepping into classrooms from Reception to Year 6 and delivering the curriculum while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons in line with the school’s curriculum for the assigned year group.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Take daily attendance, record pupil progress and follow school safeguarding procedures.
• Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure continuity of teaching and assessment.
• Adapt teaching resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE, EYTS or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and up‑to‑date safeguarding training.
• Two professional child‑related references.
• Open to both newly qualified and experienced teachers.

Required skills

• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Effective lesson planning and delivery across the primary curriculum.
• Good communication skills with pupils, staff and parents.
