Primary Teacher – SEN (Autism & SEMH) – Horsham

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join an independent specialist boys' school in rural Horsham. The role focuses on supporting pupils with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from Reception to Year 2, starting September 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality primary curriculum while maintaining rigorous standards of teaching and learning.
- Create a disciplined, safe and stimulating classroom environment for all pupils.
- Lead targeted interventions and strategies for pupils with ASC/BESD.
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor, assess and record student progress, fostering a culture of high expectations.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of schemes of work.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience delivering the primary curriculum.
- Demonstrated experience working with children with SEN, preferably SEMH.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Must have a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle due to the rural location.
